T Transatlantic, (now
defunct) artists also included Billy Connolly, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Alexis
Koerner, Mike and Sally
Oldfield, Pentangle, Gerry Rafferty, Dubliners and many others.
Purple Gang now recording themselves and using the Net. No record company to
date.

Management
Joe Boyd, legendary producer and London Underground Flower Power entrepenuer,
mover and
shaker, managed Purple Gang and produced them. The Gang based in Bayswater and
Macclesfield! Later Ex BBC Radio 1 D.J. David Symonds took over management.
At one point Purple Gang
were with the same agency as Jimi Hendrix and the Stones.
Venues
Purple Gang appealed initially to the hippy scene but later became a student
favourite. Appeals
also to Folk/Rock following. Today have a brick in the 'Wall of Fame', (close
to Lennon's statue)
Cavern, Mathew Street, Liverpool. Once appeared with 'Love', Hendrix, Bowie,
Velvets, T.Rex.
Best Gigs. 14 hour Technicolour Dream, Alexander Palace 1967. UFO Club,
Tottenham Court
Road.
Worst Gigs. Anywhere audience wants 'cover' only!
